Boris Garcia: Family Reunion
Porchwerk Records presents Boris Garcia's Family ReunionAs one of the most exciting new bands to hit the musical scene recently, genre-defying Boris Garcia has taken to the road to promote their second CD, Mother’s Finest. Describing their music is difficult, as member Bob Stirner says, “We call it jam-grass-back porch-folk music or something like that…it’s roots music.”
This Philadelphia-based group of friends recorded their first album in 2005 as a way to have fun…for the players and especially for the listeners. The sessions produced this debut album, Family Reunion, and caused enough of a sensation to induce the band to begin playing live. Now critics are hailing Boris Garcia as the future of acoustic jam music.
On Porchwerk Records, this album highlights the multi-instrumental talents of Jeff Otto (vocals, bass, slide guitar, guitar, ukulele), Bob Stirner (vocals, bass, guitar), Gene Smith (vocals, harmonica, recorder, guitar), Stephen Ferraro (drums, percussion, vocals), and Marcus Niemoller (percussion, whistling, and vocals).
